Yellow Rice Made Simple
Ingredients:
1 Cup Texmati Rice or other white rice
2-1/4 Cups of Water
1 Medium Onion, Chopped
1 Clove Garlic, Minced
1/2 Stick of Butter or margarine
1 Packet Barzi Saffron
Salt & Pepper to taste
2 Tablespoons Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Saute Onion and garlic in olive oil. Add rice to the sauted product and strir for approx 1 minute.
In a sauce pan, bring water to a boil. Add saffron packet, sauteed rice and vegetables, butter, and salt and pepper to taste. Reduce heat and cook for 15 or 20 minutes with the top on the pan. When all water has evaporated, let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
